The music group out of Baltimore, Md., is described as a combination of indie, punk, hardcore and soul-funk with a melodic approach. Joined by his three band members, Goldman will introduce soihadto to the Anchorage music scene.
Goldman and his band are in Anchorage filming an episode of the Food Network program “Ace of Cakes.” The production was lured north by the Alaska Travel Industry Association to showcase the state during its 50th anniversary year and help bolster visitation for the upcoming summer season, which is expected to see steep declines in visitor spending.
Fairbairn and Jo Ann Asher, managing partner of Sacks Café, are teaming up on Spenard Roadhouse, which is located in the old Hogg Brothers building on Northern Lights Boulevard near the intersection with Spenard Road. The completely renovated space displays Alaska art and items from local antique and thrift shops. Open for lunch and dinner, menu items feature contemporary comfort food and the full bar features one of the largest small-batch bourbon collections in Alaska, house-infused vodkas and rums plus a great array of local beers on tap. The restaurant officially opened February 18.
Cost for the show is $15 and tickets can be purchased at the Spenard Roadhouse. Tickets are limited for the all-ages show, so advance purchase is recommended.
